YA.R.T.S.; (877) 98—YARTS; www.yosemite.com/yarts. A new motorcoach service from Merced, Coulterville, Mariposa, and Mammoth, with bike racks, makes personal vehicles unnecessary. Fare includes park admission.
You can also take an Amtrak train to Merced, transferring to a motorcoach to the park (888-PARK-BUS).
Advice: Hikers and campers should keep in mind that sudden storms are not uncommon inYosemite, any month of the year. Weather changes rapidly in the Sierras, and snow can fall as early as September.
